For this image, I choose clouds as my background because they aren't really distracting but look nice. In this photo I happened to be wearing glasses so I look very different from the beginning of the year. This photo is obviously an improvement from the one on the left. the background isn't too much but it looks right, the quote is clear and easy to read and the images look right together. I don't think the one on the left is bad, but I do think I really improved on editing.
Layers of my life
This picture has many different things about it, like me. It is diverse and has many interesting layers. The first layer is a picture of my garage with some of my moms flowers planted beside it. This layer represents my love of the outdoors and nature. Growing up I didn’t have many kids to play with, but that wouldn’t stop me from going outside and just playing by myself. My backyard has always been one of my favorite places to go, I like to look at the flowers my mom plants and enjoy the scenery. The second layer is a picture of my old typewriter. I really like this layer because I love to write. I got the typewriter when I was about 9 years old and I loved writing short stories on it and still use it today, writing has always been one of my favorite hobbies and I was glad I could add that to my picture. The third layer is a picture of a stack of some of my favorite books. This layer shows that I love to read and how much these books mean to me. I only used one effect on my photo, the lasso tool. I cropped out unnecessary areas of my photos and only focused on the main part to get my message across. I think this made my picture look a lot better than before, and much more like a collage. Overall I really enjoyed taking the photos and working on this project, I think this selfie really tells a lot about me and what I love.
